Robert Weekly - Quality and Deployment System Engineer

Since March 2014, I have been working at the DMC with the Services and Data Products groups as a Quality and Deployment System Engineer. My responsibilities typically focus on testing and deploying software, maintaining online documentation for web services, and troubleshooting various issues reported by our users.

I’m originally from San Diego, CA, but couldn’t stand all the palm trees and paradise so I went to college at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, which is about as opposite to San Diego as it gets. Soon after, I came to the Univ. of Washington and received a PhD in Geophysics while studying how earthquakes and faults help contribute to seafloor spreading, and sustain very bizarre creatures at the bottom of the ocean.

I’ve been married to my wife, Lora, since 2008 and we’ve recently adopted a 2-yr old dog named Koda. We’ve learned that while living in Seattle, it’s good to have both outdoor and indoor hobbies because you never know which hobby the weather will favor! Backpacking and biking take up much of the nicer days while I like to play games, practice the trumpet, or bravely attempt new crockpot recipes during the colder, slushier months.

Working at IRIS has been an enjoyable experience from the start. The DMC has a wonderful culture that has been welcoming and inclusive, and I look forward to my time here.
